Sweden’s Ambassador to Ankara, Hakan Akesson visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
During the meeting, Ambassador Akesson reported that President Gül’s official visit to Sweden between the 10th and the12th of September, which was cancelled due to health issues, has been rescheduled to 11-13 of March, 2013.
Stating that they expect a large delegation from Turkey, the Ambassador also exchanged views on the private sector delegation which will accompany the visit.
Touching on the crisis in Europe, Ambassador Akesson, saying that his country has a strong economy just like Turkey, reported that they were less affected by the crisis than other countries.
Stating that Sweden’s economy is dependent on exporting, Akesson said that they felt the effects of the crisis as they export mostly to Scandinavian countries and one of the largest economies in Europe, Germany.
