Stars of the Muş economy receive their awards from Hisarcıklıoğlu

Speaking at the Stars of the Economy Award Ceremony held by the Muş Chamber of Commerce and Industry, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu urged for refocusing on structural reforms. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that development of the economy means employment and prosperity, “Please, let us look to structural reforms for the economy. If we don’t have money in our pockets, we have nothing else to talk about. If we want to prosper, we must focus on economy and continue structural reforms with all due haste.”​

Held for the first time by the Muş Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Stars of the Economy  Award Ceremony was held at the Muş Teachers’ Lodge Meeting Hall. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, as the Turkish business community, they don’t want money, just the chance to compete on equal footing with their global competitors, “If we grow by 3% for 5 consecutive years, we will be 3,000 USD richer. If we grow by 7%, we will reach 17,000 USD.”

 

- Muş is the most hopeful city in the country

 

Stating that it is their 6th visit to Muş, the TOBB President reminded that the opening of the TOBB Anatolia Teachers’ High School and KOSGEB Service Center two years ago and thanked those who contributed to the organization of the Muş’ Stars Awards Ceremony.

 

Stressing the importance of unity and solidarity for the developing of cities, Hisarcıklıoğlu touched on various issues such as numbers of newly established companies and dishonored cheques.

 

Pointing out the immense potential of the Muş plain for agriculture, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Muş has many great advantages due to being a 6th grade incentive zone as well as emphasizing the need for greater incentives.

 

“In a nationwide survey, Muş came up as the top province for positive expectation of the coming year,” said Hisarcıklıoğlu and went on, “This just shows how hopeful residents of Muş are in regards to the future. Conversely, the residents of Muş have stated that their most significant problem is unemployment, followed by maintaining peace and security.”
