The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) President Rövnak Abdullayev expressed pride in being invited to the G20 Summit, stating that this move by Turkey is very important for Azerbaijan.
Presenting their thanks to the Turkish government, Abdullayev stated that the “One nation, two countries” philosophy has been developed and enriched by Presidents İlham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in answer to the needs of the modern world.
Azerbaijan Minister for Economy and Industry Mustafayev stated that Turkey’s inclusion in the G20 thanks to the reforms it has enacted and the fact that it is chairing the organization this year to contribute to the solution of global problems has been met with great pride in Azerbaijan.
Stating that the invitation of Azerbaijan to the G20 Summit is another indication of the strategic partnership and friendship between the two countries, thanking the Turkish government.

Speaking at the B20 Azerbaijan Regional Consultative Meeting in Baku, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan stated that every time he visits Baku, the city shows him a further renovated and modernized face, making him greatly proud, confirming his perception that Baku is on its way to being an international actor rather than just a regional one.
Stating that the diversifying Azerbaijani economy will contribute to the prosperity of not just the Azerbaijani people, but that of all the peoples of the region, Babacan said, “We have the right to invite one non-G20 country to the G20 Summit to be held in Turkey. We chose Azerbaijan because in addition to being our brother country, it is also one of the countries which progressed the most and contributed the most to the development of the Southern Caucasia and which would contribute greatly to the G20.”
