“I would first like to express my hope that the 2015 Parliamentary Elections will benefit our country.
Our Nation, which took part in record numbers in the election, has put forth its will at the ballot box with great maturity.
Likewise, the will of our citizens living abroad has been reflected upon the Parliament to a large degree.
Turkey has shown that it has a strong and robust tradition of democracy.
It is also a point of joy that 95% of the people’s vote will be represented in the Parliament and that the highest number of women PMs to date have been elected to serve in the Parliament.
Turkey has undergone three elections in the last 14 months. Leaving behind a busy election schedule, we must all focus on the economy and structural reforms now.
At a time of global financial instability, any additional instability generated by us would not have a positive effect on the country.
We can overcome all of our issues by not forgetting that we are all on the same ship and working in cooperation, dialogue and common sense.
In the days ahead, we anticipate that the people’s message will be heeded correctly and the interests of the country will be foremost in all considerations.”
