Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it is their first meeting following President Akıncı’s election and that they greatly admire Akıncı’s work.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu extended his well wishes for President Akıncı’s endeavors.

Reporting that the Investment Advisory Council, which greatly increased the investment drawn into Turkey, was unable to persist in Northern Cyprus, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it is necessary to ascertain what kinds of obstacles are preventing investments and address these issues.

President Akıncı stated that they are working to bring peace to both side of the island and emphasized the importance of economy.

Stating that they wish to benefit from Hisarcıklıoğlu’s experience, President Akıncı emphasized that they put great importance on the Nicosia Forum which is comprised of Cypriot Turk and Greek, Greek and Turkish business communities.

Expressing his wish to meet more often with Hisarcıklıoğlu more often from now on, President Akıncı stated that a political solution must be supported in the economic field.

Pointing out that there is an economic difference between TRNC and Southern Cyprus, Akıncı stated that Hisarcıklıoğlu’s experience would serve to redress this difference.
