02.10.2015 / İstanbul

B20 Turkey Chair and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his speech at the G20 Energy Minister Meeting held at the Tarabya Hotel with the attendance of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, that G20 countries should have a say in energy.

Hisarcıklıoğlu spoke about the energy needs of the world. Reporting that over 1.3 billion people have no access to electricity throughout the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “They have no lights at night. Many gadgets are not even beyond luxury for 1.3 billion people. Half the world is burning wood or manure to cook their food. Many of these people are living in Sub-Saharan Africa.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “G20 should have a say in energy production by fulfilling its responsibilities instead of being a monopoly of multiple countries in the field of energy production. To this end, we are ready to work together with our governments as the private sector.

- President Erdoğan

President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that national security is instrumental on both the national and global scale. Reporting that the global infrastructure need until 2030 is projected to reach between 70 and 90 trillion USD, President Erdoğan stated that global energy demand will also continue to increase.
