TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the foundation for the Dilucu Customs Gate was laid a year and a half ago and thanked the former Minister for Customs and Commerce Hayati Yazıcı for his contributions.
Stating that Minister Aşçı, with his background in bureaucracy, has contributed greatly to the matters of customs, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Iğdır deserves their service.
Emphasizing the fact that prosperity increases once exports, employment and production increases, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Dilucu and Iğdır have a much brighter future.”
Drawing attention to the fact that 60% of the production on a global scale has shifted to the east of Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Turkey stands at the crossroads of global trade.
Reportingthat they’ve made investments totaling up to 725 million TRY into customs gates, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the lowered costs from the modernization of various customs gates have resulted in 410 million TRY for the private sector.

Minister for Customs and Commerce Cenap Aşçı extended his condolences to those who lost their lives during the terror attack last month which resulted in the death of 13 law enforcement officers.
Minister Aşçı stated that foreign trade makes up an important part of total trade, pointing out that countries which have the power to compete take a greater piece of the global trade cake.
Also attending the ceremony, former Minister for Customs and Commerce Hayati Yazıcı stated that Turkey is undertaking endeavors of revolutionary proportions in all fields, emphasizing the importance of growth and economic potential.
Iğdır Governor Davut Haner stated that customs gates are the mirrors of a country, and that, the new, modern, Dilucu Customs Gate is one befitting Iğrdır.
Customs and Tourism Enterprises Co. Inc. Chair Arif Parmaksız reported that the Dilucu Customs Gate project has been undertaken under the build-operate-transfer model, costing 75 million TRY.
Azerbaijan Customs Directorate Vice President Asef Memedov touched on the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of cooperation.
Following the speeches, the Dilucu Customs Gate was officially opened.
Hisarcıklıoğlu and Aşçı visited and toured Azerbaijan’s Sederek Customs Gate following the opening.
