Emphasizing that the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey is one of the most democratic institutions of the country, Hisarcıklıoğlu spoke on the difficulty of asking for votes from your competitors.

Stating that selection through election makes council members the opinion leaders of their regions, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “That is why you must know the institution which you represent, its endeavors and the opportunities it provides well. You must be a guide for your region. Various duties fall to you as the opinion leaders of your provinces and counties. The most beneficent of men is he who is beneficent unto others. You have a great opportunity to benefit others, you must make good use of it.”

Emphasizing the importance of cities in regards to global competition as opposed to countries, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that cities would be key in Turkey’s advancement in global competition.

“Birds of a feather stick together,” said Hisarcıklıoğlu, adding that TOBB’s success lies in the unity and solidarity of its chamber and exchange presidents.
