Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the newly elected sector council chairs

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the newly elected chairpersons of sector councils. Also present at the meeting were TOBB Board Members Necdet Özer and Salih Zeki Murzioğlu.​

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that Turkey Sector Councils have direct contact with the public as opposed to other sectoral institutions, as dictated by the law which governs it. Emphasizing the importance of sector councils in increasing the sectoral productivity of Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu touched on the importance of the representatives of the private and public sectors coming together to seek solutions to problems.

It was stated during the meeting that councils should reach out to all actors within their sectors; that decisions are made through consultation. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of bringing the council chair identity to the fore.

The attending council chairs shared information regarding the issues affecting their sectors, structural problems and their councils’ 2016 agendas.

Attending the meeting were Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Council Chair Veysel Yayan, Maritime Affairs Council Chair Erol Yücel, Natural Gas Council Chair İbrahim Akbal, Casting Industry Council Chair Niyazi Akdaş, Education Council Chair Yusuf Ekinci, Fairs Council Chair Cihat Alagöz, Pharmaceutical Industry Council Chair Cengiz Celayir, Construction Contrators Council Chair Tahir Tellioğlu, Cosmetic and Sanitary Products Council Chair Ahmet Pura, Medical Council Chair Özgür İncekara, Medical Institutions Council Chair Seyit Karaca, Civilian Aviation Council Chair Teoman Tosun, Tourism Council Chair Osman Ayık, Software Council Chair Melek Bar Elmas, Higher Education Council Chair Bekir Okan, Insurance Agencies Executive Committee Chair Hüseyin Kasap and Insurance Experts Executive Committee Chair Yalçın Kaya.
