- Turkey – Zhejiang Trade and Investment Symposium

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and the delegation accompanying him attended the Turkey – Zhejiang Trade and Investment Symposium organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) during their visit to the Qiantang e-Commerce Intelligence Park in Zhejiang Province capital Hangzhou. Representatives of prominent companies such as AliBaba, Geely Automotive, Zhejiang Tourism Group and Zhejiang Transportation, Engineering and Construction Company. Zhejiang CCPIT Vice President Xu Yong, Zhejiang Provincial Economy and Information Technologies Commission Chair Chen Haijiang and Trade Ministry Yiwu General Director Wang Birong were also in attendance.

TOBB Board Vice President Ender Yorgancılar provided information regarding Turkey’s economy and the Aegean Region Industry Chamber’s (EBSO) endeavors. Yorgancılar reported that work to develop cooperation with Hangzhou has begun and that TOBB is prepared to share its experiences garnered during 2015 as B20 Turkey with Hangzhou and CCPIT.

İstanbul Chamber of Commerce Chair İbrahim Çağlar also provided information regarding İstanbul and the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce.

- EBSO and Zhejiang CCPIT cooperation agreement signed

The last event in the China tour was a dinner hosted by Zhejiang Province Deputy Governor Liang Liming in TOBB’s honor. During the dinner, a cooperation agreement was signed between EBSO and CCPIT in Zhejiang, the hub of Chinese e-commerce companies. Signatories were EBSO Chair and TOBB Board Vice President Ender Yorgancılar and President Wu Guiying on behalf of Zhejiang CCPIT. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Provincial Deputy Governor Liang Liming were witnesses.

The agreement aims to establish an e-Silk Road between Turkey and the People’s Republic of China and establish joint e-commerce zones for the two countries.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his assessment at the dinner hosted by Zhejiang Province Deputy Governor Liang Liming, stated that they had fruitful meetings with Zhejiang CCPIT in November, expressing his pleasure in the developments regarding these endeavors.

Providing information regarding Turkey’s B20 activities, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they are ready to impart their experiences and cooperate. The TOBB President also provided information regarding Turkey’s economy and business community.
