- TMO will pull out of warehousing; will continue acquisitions
Food, Agriculture and Livestock Farming Minister Faruk Çelik stated that the Agricultural Products Office (TMO) will continue with their acquisitions and that work is underway for TMO to pull out of the warehousing sector.
Çelik emphasized that they are working on steps in regards to the licensed warehousing system and drew attention to the fact that they are working to develop and spread the system.
Çelik reported that the TMO-TOBB Agricultural Goods Licensed Warehousing Inc. (LİDAŞ) is continuing its efforts and said, “There are random inspections undergoing with these endeavors. TMO will continue its acquisitions; work is underway for TMO to pull out of the warehousing sector. The public sector will step out of a sector in which it should not be when current conditions are considered. With this in mind, we will consider such technical matters as what kind of system we must implement, how much storage we will need.”
