Addressing the Assembly Council, President Erdoğan stated that he believes the 15^th of July will have a special place for the TGNA which has weathered many events since April 23^rd 1920, “I extend my thanks to the Assembly for coming together here and standing firm in their stance against the putschists.”

TGNA Speaker İsmail Kahraman said, “Our nation proved that it has embraced democracy and will not allow another coup to succeed. Along with the constant prayers ringing out of the mosques as well as the democracy watch which lasted throughout the night, our nation put an end to the era of coups. Our first priority is to institute a simple, civil, democratic, liberating and individual-focused constitution.”
