10.09.2017 / Edirne
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Hamzadere region is Turkey's gateway to Europe. “Today, Edirne's largest and most productive agricultural areas is here. 35% of the rice farming in our country is done here. The most preferred rice, baldo, is grown here. Keşan is a center of agriculture, tourism and trade. Wheat, sunflower, barley, corn, sugar millet, rice, vineyard and fruit is found here. It is my hope that once Keşan and its surroundings attain irrigation faculties as Hamzadere Dam is completed which will serve 350,000 acres. If you look at tourism; Saros Bay coast is an idyllic place. There is tourism and fishing. Enez has a marina project. You are at the crossroads for trade. Keşan Market is an open-air mall with 50,000 visitors. Greece is shopping from here. Let's go through Europe as well as the Balkans. The market’s population is as much as Turkey. There are about 20 cities with populations of over 500.000. They have grown rapidly in recent years. They import as much as Turkey. They are our relatives; we have similar cultures. We know their tastes best. We should be selling them the most goods.”
- Praise for the region's chairpersons
Hisarcıklıoğlu, who praised the chamber and exchange chairpersons, said that the three chairs are working on the development of Keşan and İpsala.
Hisarcıklıoğlu, who reported that the chairs in the region are working hard to register the values of Keşan and İpsala, attaining geographical marking, “I have seen very few places that work so much to preserve their local values. Therefore, I congratulate each of the three chairpersons again. I want to emphasize a couple of important things they do. You’ve seen where the chamber-commodity exchanges came from. However, there are those who are unaware of this transformation, still commenting on old information.”
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Yaman Cheese Factory Sales Office after the Keşan-İpsala Award Ceremony.
