TOBB ETU 2016-2017 academic year graduation and 2017-2018 academic year opening ceremony was held.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they are happy to have created such an education institution for Turkey as TOBB.

Stating that there is a strong relationship between the prosperity a country and the level of education, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “In my opinion, the most efficient contemporary factory that will make a nation rich is the university. Investing in education is the greatest service rendered unto the country. Today we are graduating the tenth year alumni of our university. I heartily congratulate all my graduating brothers and sisters.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the university gave three semesters in one year and stated that the students are introduced to the business world and the business world to the students. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that over 2,000 companies are registered in the system and said, “Our graduates are starting their first jobs with a year of work experience. They are one step ahead of their competition and this new educational system we have brought to our country has begun to bear the fruits. About half of all our students finds a job within the first month of graduation.”

Pointing out that foreign language education was also important at TOBB ETÜ, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that students have received their TOEFL documents before graduation.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said, in regards to the difficulties students may face in life, “Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our country, said, ‘All my hope lies with the youth.’ It is never too early for any goals. Fevzi Çakmak Pasha was the oldest commander of the War of Independence at 43 years old. Many of the commanders who defied seven nations and succeeded in the War of Independence were young soldiers in their early 30s. Never shy away from taking the initiative, dream big, set goals and work hard. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. There are no miracles behind any achievements. There are only dreams and the perseverance to actualize those dreams.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Technology Center, founded five years ago in the university, boasts all manner of equipment which can be used for R&D in order to produce technology. Hisarcıklıoğlu said that “The Technology Center has the largest water testing and design center in the world. Our biomechanical laboratory, which is set up at this center, serves 18 countries and 42 different universities and nearly 200 companies have benefited from the laboratories.”

TOBB ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Şahin stated that they are training leaders, entrepreneurial and innovative students as per the needs of the business community with global competition conditions in mind.

The President of the Supreme Court of Appeals İsmail Rüştü Cirit participated in the ceremony presented plaques to students. At the end of the ceremony, the students celebrated their graduation by throwing their caps.
