Hisarciklioglu pointed that with the global crisis, a shift from Wes to East in economy has occurred and with this transformation having stronger economic relations with Asia Pacific region began to be in favor of Turkish interests. 

 
Hisarciklioglu mentioned that despite the fact that the trade between the two countries increased five times and became 1,3 billion dollars, the current numbers are distant from presenting the real potential.

Hisarciklioglu explained the possible cooperation opportunities

Hisarciklioglu suggested that the two countries have to meet at the investment forums and fairs more often and stated the areas of future cooperation:

“We must increase student exchange programs. Although Turkey is within top 7 destinations in the world with 30 million tourists, only 30 000 Malaysians visited Turkey. We would like to host more visitors from Malaysia. We would like to increase our cooperation in textile sector. Turkey is highly competitive at the agriculture and food sector. There are many cooperation possibilities within the food sector. Yesterday, our companies signed a 600 million dollar defense agreement. I prpose a research and production project between our companies”.

Hisarciklioglu requested the support of Malaysia Prime Minister for the cooperation between the countries in science and technology field. 

-Malaysia Prime Minister Necip Abdulrezzak

Malaysia Prime Minister Necip Abdulrezzak stated in his speech that for the automotive sector it can be considered to produce a Turkish-Malaysia model to export to other countries.

Mr. Abdulrezzak mentioned that the free trade and strategic cooperation agreement will be signed at the end of this year during the visit of Prime Minister Erdogan. He added that they may consider Turkish-Malaysia model automobiles to export.
Malaysia President Necip Abdulrezzak pointed out possibilities of cooperation in petroleum, gas and defense sectors.

- Minister of State and Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan

Minister of State and Deputy Prime Minister, Ali Babacan said that the meeting between Malaysia Prime Minister Abdulrezzak and Prime Minister Erdogan had been very productive for the future cooperation.

He said that they want to complete the free trade agreement soon and increase the trade between the states and pointed the importance of mutual investments.

The Republic of Turkey Prime Minister Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT) President Ilker Ayci,  Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) President Mehmet Buyuk Eksi, MUSIAD President Ömer Cihad Vardan, Turkish-Malaysian Business Council President Nail Kurt  and businessmen were present at the meeting.
