The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey University of Economics and Technology (TOBB ETU) Board of Trustees and TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his speech at the 2021-2022 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony, stated that TOBB ETU has now become a university that exports ideas and technology to the world, and advised graduates, “Dream, set goals, work hard and do not be afraid to lose.”

TOBB ETU 2021-2022 Academic Year Graduates received their diplomas. TOBB ETU Board of Trustees and TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “As a businessman and TOBB President, my most proud project is TOBB ETU. TOBB ETU is a project of the Turkish business world to bring a new generation to our country that thinks freely, follows information, learns fast, produces technology and invents.”

Stating that TOBB ETU is among the best young universities in the world today, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our scientific research programs are developing rapidly, and the number of our master's, doctoral students and faculty members is increasing.

Our chest swells with pride every day with the success of our TOBB ETU students, our graduates and our professors whose number exceeds 9,000.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that TOBB ETU graduates have accomplished successful works in world giants from Tesla to Apple, and said, “Our Faculty of Medicine entered the top 3 in a short time in the Medical Specialty Exam. Last semester, both TUS and KPSS winners came out of TOBB ETU.

In TOBB ETU Technology and Transfer Office, we have companies that compete with Microsoft with the 3D image transfer technology they have developed and export technology to Nokia. Our Technology Center hosts world-class projects in many fields from nanotechnology to energy. The R&D of our domestic automobile TOGG is carried out on this campus.

Our professors are listed among the most influential scientists in the world in the most prestigious lists. All of this shows that the seeds we sowed have taken root.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu called on graduates to never lose their entrepreneurial spirit and said, “As TOBB ETU graduates, this is the most basic feature that distinguishes you from others. Entrepreneurship is a philosophy of life.

The key to success in this era is to reject the status quo. It is not accepting what is static. It is to be open to change. Dream, set goals, work hard and don't be afraid to lose.”

TOBB ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Sarınay stated in his speech that graduates spend one year of their university lives working full-time and said, “You graduate with 1 year of work experience, that is, a great advantage.

I believe that in the next period, you, both in Turkey and all over the world, will join our graduates who have achieved great success in different fields, duties and positions, and you will continue to make us, your families and our country proud and happy with your success stories.”
