The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Yozgat CCI & CE Contributors to the Economy Award Ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said that he is honored to be in Yozgat, the home of the Bozok braves, the land of martyrs, and the city of peace.

Emphasizing that both the soil and the air of Yozgat are fertile, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Yozgat is also one of the agricultural centers that feed our country. It ranks first in lentils, beetroot and wheat. The industry has also made an important breakthrough. While there was only one OIZ 20 years ago, now this number increased to 4 and it is almost all full. The vital defense equipment that protects our security forces used to be imported; now it is produced here. It is sent to more than 50 countries of the world from Yozgat. And the latest Ukrainian President Zelensky and his team are protecting themselves with the ballistic-protected helmets and vests produced here.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that a science center was established under the leadership of the Yozgat Governorship and Municipality, and that they will see the future scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs will be produced here.

TOBB President stated that Yozgat will turn into a tourism city with the start of Ankara-Sivas-Yozgat High Speed Train services.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that he came across a very beautiful picture in Yozgat and that the governor, mayor, heads of chambers and commodity exchanges and entrepreneurs were all together and united for the development of Yozgat.

Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that Yozgat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Commodity Exchange are accredited and offer 5-star service to their members.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Yozgat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Commodity Exchange have implemented another important project and built a large livestock facility, thus making a significant contribution to the development of animal husbandry in Yozgat.

Reminding that Yozgat Commodity Exchange is the partner of TMO-TOBB LİDAŞ, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “It contributes to the development of licensed warehousing in our country. With our licensed warehouse of 60,000 tons in our Sarıkaya district, it serves our producers from Yozgat. On the other hand, with the efforts of our Chamber, I was pleased to learn that Yozgat was the province that increased its exports the most in the first 6 months. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to our Chamber and our exporter members and wish you continued success.”

Stating that the LGS placement results were announced, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The occupancy rate in all vocational high schools across Turkey was 95%. Guess how many happened in Yozgat? Just as it should be for Yozgat, 100% occupancy. Yes, there are no vacancies in our 2 vocational high schools in Yozgat. I would also like to thank you for this success and the support you have given to vocational education.”

Stating that they have taken an important decision as TOBB upon the request of the Yozgat Presidents, Hisarcıklıoğlu gave the good news that they have built the Bozok University TOBB School of Health and now they will build 4 new schools in 4 districts of Yozgat, Boğazlıyan, Sorgun, Şefaatlı and Yerköy.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, reminding that they analyzed 90,000 producers and 4,000 products in the TOBB Industry Database, said, “Yozgat can produce 266 different products. Accordingly, Yozgat is in the 1st position in Turkey in terms of production capacity in 7 products. It ranks second in 11 products and third in 8 products.”

Emphasizing that the Presidents of the Chamber/Commodity Exchange both carried out studies which add value to Yozgat and relayed every problem of their members to Ankara and sought solutions, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “During the pandemic, they became interpreters for your problems. They have collected your problems and suggestions. Together, we have communicated these to the government, which is in charge. We also got results from a significant part of them. A lot of support and arrangements have been implemented. But our troubles are not over, of course there are problems. We say these things all the time. We are trying to provide solutions.”

- TOGG will be seen on the roads in March

Hisarcıklıoğlu, who gave information about the domestic car TOGG to the participants, said, “Turkish people had a big dream. 110 years old, 120 years of business to make your own car. We were halfway 60 years ago. For this reason, but Allah willing, on October 29 this year, we will open the factory of TOGG, of which all intellectual rights belong to Turkey. I hope that we will present the 100% electric car to the world market. In March, we will start driving together. You will see TOGG on the roads of Yozgat.”
