He  indicated  the  following in  his  speech:  “In our culture the military service is considered a patriotic  duty and going for  the  military service is a celebration. A man  has three  feasts in  his  life, one is circumcision feast, the second is  when  he is getting  married and the other one is when  going to  military. Because in our culture, having  completed the  military service is an  indication of  maturity and  pride.

Military service, martyrdom and to be a  veteran have  high  significance in our  culture. We believe that those who die as a martyr  while defending their  country ascend to the  highest  spiritual level. With the same token  veterans reach a  sacred  point. Having a veteran title is considered having a badge and holding a rank . The fact that the  founder of our Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is referred to  with his “Veteran” title, is an indication  of the importance  that our  nation attribute to  this rank. This is why we greatly respect and pay homage to the  memory  of our martyr  and veterans.

The memories of  our  beloved  martyr, their  families and esteemed veterans are  entrusted  in  us  by our nation. To stand  by the side of their  families, and to support them is the heritage of our culture and  a thousand year history. We are trying to fulfil this duty.”

TOBB president  M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu  emphasized that they are only trying to carry out their duty, veterans are  employed  in TOBB, DEİK and affiliates. He indicated that  it is not possible to pay off  the sacrifices of our veterans and added  that the  Rehabilitation Centre of the Turkish Military  is equipped with rare qualities and one of the best centres in the World.
