Hisarcıklıoğlu included the following statements in his message:
“The earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş in February this year have once again reminded us of the importance of taking the necessary precautions against disasters and other risks that may occur. For economic growth and social welfare, it is not enough to establish industrial facilities and develop new business models and technologies. The facilities established and the gains achieved must also be protected. One of the ways to minimize the effects of disasters and other adverse events and to protect against them is insurance. Insurance allows individuals and businesses to easily manage the risks they face.
Effective risk management is critical for the economic growth and sustainable development of our country. The insurance sector undertakes the task of managing these risks and providing financial protection. Insurance becomes our assurance in difficult moments, minimizes our losses and helps us rebuild our lives. We have seen in the recent earthquake disaster that businesses and industrial facilities with earthquake insurance were able to resume their operations in a much shorter period of time.
Insurance agencies and loss adjusters organized under the umbrella of our Union play a major role in the transfer of risks to insurance. Insurance agents help our citizens and businesses find insurance policies that suit their needs and manage their claims processes. They are specialized in identifying risks and offering the best insurance solutions. Insurance loss adjusters, whose impartiality and independence are guaranteed by Law No. 5684, play an important role in the payment of compensation by quickly, accurately and fairly determining the damages incurred. Both professions serve to ensure a safer future for our society.
As the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, we will continue to provide all the support we can to ensure that insurance agents and loss adjusters can look to the future with more confidence, continue their professional development, improve their service quality and contribute more to the sector.
With these feelings and thoughts, I sincerely congratulate the Insurance Week of the entire business world and all employees working in the sector, especially our insurance agencies and insurance experts.”
