At the ceremony, which gained a special meaning with the coincidence of the 100^th anniversary of the Republic and was held under the main headings of ‘Companies that increased women’s employment the most’ and ‘Entrepreneurial women power’; Gürmen Clothing Ind.Trade.Co.Ltd. received the award for the company that increased women’s employment the most; the most environmentally friendly Burpol Polymers Plastics Ind.Trade.Co.Ltd., the most digitalized Elman Automation Systems Co.Ltd., and the companies that increased their exports the most were Ak Celep Cotton Food Agricultural Products Textile and Tourism Industry Trade Import Export Limited Company.

- 12 companies received awards

In his speech at the opening ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that intelligence and success cannot be gendered and said that if women are strong, society and the country will be strong. Hisarcıklıoğlu, who gave advice to women and young entrepreneurs, emphasized that they are proud to organize the second edition of Türkiye’s Entrepreneurial Women Power Competition in cooperation with TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Board and TEPAV on the 100^th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and said, “In total, 12 companies received awards in 6 categories. Our three companies that increased their Woman employment the most in the 2021-2022 period were awarded. This category was open to all our companies without any restrictions. The Woman employment rate of our applicant companies increased by 31% compared to the previous year. The average number of Woman employees in our award-winning companies is 315. Our Women Entrepreneur category was open only to applications from women entrepreneurs. Here, our women entrepreneurs who grew the fastest, increased their exports the most, digitalized the most and were the most environmentally friendly were evaluated according to their performance in the 2021-2022 period. It was seen that our women entrepreneurs who applied grew 1.5 times faster than Türkiye’s national income growth.”

Pointing out that 78% of the companies applying to the competition exported to 55 different countries, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “There is nothing that women cannot do if given the opportunity. You are successful because you do not listen to those who say ‘you can’t do it’, and you continue on your way with perseverance and determination. I sincerely congratulate our women entrepreneurs who have achieved this extraordinary success.”

TOBB KGK President Nurten Öztürk emphasized that women entrepreneurs make significant contributions not only to the business world but also to the economic development of the country. Stating that they want strong, innovative and leading women to take more place in the business world, Öztürk said, “Our main goal in the competition, which we organized in order to raise awareness about women’s rights and gender equality in the business world and to improve the working environment of women and to enable them to play a more active role in business life, is to show that the profession has no gender.”

Nurten Öztürk also emphasized the 100^th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and said, “This auspicious year is a symbol of women’s more active, stronger and freer participation in all areas of our society. Our women entrepreneurs will shape the future of our country. Together, let us continue to make efforts to further increase the power and potential of women entrepreneurs.”
