Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:

“We are on the 8^th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt on July 15, 2016. We have not forgotten and will not forget this dastardly attack on the independence and future of our country.

By repulsing a treacherous and dastardly attack on its democracy and rule of law on the night of July 15, 2016, Türkiye has clearly demonstrated that we will never accept an administration which does not derive its power from the ballot box and its authority from the nation as legitimate. We will not submit to any option other than democracy and the will of the nation.

As TOBB and the Chamber and Exchange community, we were the first professional organization to take action and initiative against the coup attempt. ‘We do not recognize any will other than the will of the nation and democracy. The day is the day to protect democracy,’ we said.

The Turkish business world has always been and will continue to be on the side of our nation, state and democracy. We gratefully remember the heroic martyrs of the national resistance who lost their lives in the fight for democracy.”
