If we catch Europe’s productivity level, our economy can grow three times faster than now.

At the 50th plenary meeting of the National Productivity Centre of Turkey, the president of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that people are creating 12 $ added value with one hour working in Turkey and this value is approximately 40 $ in Europe. He noted that “If we catch Europe’s productivity level, our economy can grow three times faster than now”.
In his speech, TOBB President, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that the National Productivity Centre of Turkey does its job perfectly and added that “I hope decisive performance will continue in the coming days.”

Between 2002 and 2007 productivity and growth rates in Turkey showed an upswing trend. Because of the global financial crisis it took negative values between 2008 and 2009. After 2009 it has took positive values again and this performance is maintaining.

He highlighted that the National Productivity Centre of Turkey is an important institution. He indicated that productivity can be solution of Turkey’s problems.
