Aydın Memecik Olive received geographical indication registration from the EU

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Aydın Memecik Olive is the 31st product to receive a geographical indication registration the European Union (EU) and said, “I congratulate Aydın and our country. I congratulate Aydın Commodity Exchange President Fevzi Çondur, the Board of Directors, the Assembly and everyone who contributed.”
Stating that Türkiye has a diversity of products that very few geographies in the world are blessed with, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making intense efforts for local products and geographical indications. Our work on 78 geographical indications and 3 traditional product names, which are in the process of the European Union, continues.”
