Hatay Kaytaz Pastry Receives Geographical Indication Registration from the EU

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), stated that Hatay Kaytaz Pastry is the 39th product to receive geographical indication registration from the European Union, adding, “May it be beneficial for Hatay and our country. I congratulate Levent Hakkı Yılmaz, President of the İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), who champions our local values, the İskenderun CCI Board of Directors, its Assembly, and everyone who contributed to this achievement.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have a product diversity that very few regions in the world have. As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making intensive efforts for local and geographically indicated products. Our work continues on 43 geographical indications and 2 traditional product names that are in the process of being registered with the European Union.”
