Maraş Bun receives geographical indication registration from the EU

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), announced that Maraş Bun is the 44th product to receive geographical indication registration from the European Union, saying, “May it be beneficial for Kahramanmaraş and our country. I congratulate everyone who contributed to this achievement.”​

In his statement on the matter, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have a product diversity that very few regions in the world can boast. As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making intensive efforts for local and geographically indicated products. Our work continues on 41 geographical indications and 2 traditional product names that are in the process of being registered with the European Union.”
