Turkey's new ambassador Abrurrahman Bilgiç visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu on 18 March 2011 at TOBB headquarters. ​
During the meeting, at first they mentioned the disaster in Japan and discussed the possible ways of helping Japanese people to recover from the consequences of the earthquake.
Mr Bilgic stated that Japanese investors come to Turkey not only with their goods but also with their higher technology and that this is an extra advantage for Turkey. Moreover, he added that Turkish businessmen should have close relations with Japanese businessmen as Japan will be the biggest world market in the future.
TOBB President, Mr Hisarcıklıoglu expressed that we should focus on improving our bilateral and trade relations with Japan and we can organize mutual business delegation visits under the Turkish-Japan Business Council which was established under the structure of Foreign Economic Relations Board.
