Based on a 400-year history of economic relations between the two countries TOBB Chairman Hisarcıklıoğlu, expressed that the Netherlands is the first country between the European countries which the commercial relations has been started and that this should be within the responsibility of both countries.
Hisarcıkloğlu pointed to the importance of the activities of the Turkish-Dutch Business Council and said that the business councils need to be more active in the scope of the 400th anniversary of Turkey - Dutch diplomatic relations which will be celebrated in the year 2012.
Hisarcıklıoğlu required the support of the minister regarding the visa problem faced by businessmen. Minister Bleker, said that he would follow the issue regarding the slow processing procedures and will support business people to obtain a visa to the Netherlands.
In 2012, Turkey - Dutch Diplomatic Relations 400. Anniversary Celebrations
The minister expressed the scope of the preparatory work of Turkey - Netherlands 400th anniversary celebration of diplomatic relations in the fields of economy and trade activities.
Minister Bleker stated that the Dutch government gives great importance to develop the relations with Turkey, and continued that the Prime Minister would visit Turkey in May 2011
Turkey-Netherlands relations must not be only in the economic field, but also needs to be spread in sports, arts, science and culture he said.
