Speaking at the dinner held in conjunction with the Turk-Arab Economic Forum, TOBB and DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu talked of working towards furthering trade and investments with the Arab world; “We believe that we must integrate fully for a mutually beneficial future.”

Among the speakers at the dinner were TOBB and DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Administration of Privatization Ahmet Aksu and Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Project Director Veyis Toprak.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, touching on the subject of the importance of the Arab world, spanning from the Atlantic to the Persian Gulf and holding a population of 350 million,” We must further propagate our various collaborations, especially on critical matters such as energy, food and water safety. We are working to increase trade, vitalize investments and gaining further momentum for the movements of the people between our countries.”

“Arab investments in Turkey must increase”

As an example of Turkey’s desirability as a target for investment Hisarcıklıoğlu spoke of the automotive sector and the production of 11 global brands investing in Turkey, “Many global companies are investing in Turkey in order to reach the markets in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Middle East and North Africa. Turkey is also a logical investment in terms of quality as well as location due to the fact automobiles built in Turkey have ever needed to be recalled because of technical issues. This has rightfully earned the automotive factories in Turkey renown for quality on a global scale. As Europe loses its competitive edge due to decreasing amount of young work force and increasing costs of employment, many European brands will be inclined to accept mergers and foreign investments. There is no reason why we can’t be the star of global trade for the coming 50 years when we combine our experience and dynamism with Arab capital and European brands.”
“DEİK along with the 18 business councils established with the Arab world, national and global service network, and professional staff stands ready to render every aid to you.”
