A call for investment and partnership from Egypt to Turkish businessmen

In his meeting with TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Egypt Trade and Industry Minister Prof. Dr. Samir El Sayiad issued a call to Turkish businessmen for the reconstruction of Egypt and stated that the 1 million residences constructed within the next five years would present a sizeable market for them. Sayiad went on to say, “Turkish investors should have faith in us. There is no situation to worry investors.”​

 

Attending the IV UN LCDs Conference, Egyptian Minister Sayiad and TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu also met with TOBB Vice-President Halim Mete, TOBB Board Member Harun Karacan and DEİK/Turkish Egyptian Business Council President Zuhal Mansfield.

 

-“What’s happing in Egypt is a revolution”


Describing the situation in Egypt as ‘a revolution’, Egypt Trade and Industry Minister Dr. Samir El Sayiad stated that he would attend talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoğlu in order to facilitate visa processes for businessmen. Minister Sayiad stated that preparations to start rapid maritime trade between Mersin and Alexandria were nearing completion and that the plans to have the first voyages start in September were in effect. Saying that by facilitating maritime trade Turkish entrepreneurs would be able to enter the African markets, Sayiad said that Egyptian businessmen would likewise be able to enter Central Asian markets through Turkey.
