TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the meeting on “Turkey’s Economic Transformation Period and the Experince of the Private Sector” held by “World Bank – IMF Turkish Staff Association”, an association of Turks working in the World Bank and IMF during his USA visit.

Turkish workers of the World Bank and IMF came together at the meeting and shared their views on the transformation period started by the Former President of the Republic Turgut Özal in 1983 and the contributions of the private sector to this period.

Answering the attending members’ questions Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it was only to be expected that organizations like the World Bank, IMF and other international organizations that Turkey is a member of would employ more Turks; and that with its young and educated labor pool Turkey has come a long way and will keep improving its status in the international organization community.
