Stating that tourism was important for the country and representation, Hisarcıklıoğlu related his view that tourism was the largest contributor to the country’s economy. With the sector’s 30 billion dollars worth of intake, it presents Turkey with great opportunities for balancing current deficit said Hisarcıklıoğlu and went on, “The tourism sector boomed in your first term. Hopefully Turkey’s potential will continue to increase.”

Stating that there are many other neglected sectors today, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out the potentials of health tourism, education tourism, winter and culture tourism. Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance of the tourism sector for the prosperity of Turkey and reaching the 2023 goals.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they were ready to provide the best service in the dialogue established between the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the private sector and thanked Minister Günay on behalf of the Turkish private sector.

Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay stated that they had collaborated in many projects in the previous ministerial term and had seen TOBB’s support in times of need.

Reminding that many workers of the tourism sector were members of one of TOBB’s departments, Günay stated that in the new term they aimed to bring the tourism sector to even greater heights. Minister Günay said, “We host around 30 milion people and this is a very significant economic contribution for closing the current deficit.”

Stating that the collaboration of the previous term should continue, Günay said working together with the private sector increases their efficiency and contributes to the country’s economic potential. Stating that in recent years, they’ve made it a policy to work closely with the private sector, Günay said, “Working with the private sector has become an important, practical tenet for us. Thanks to this the quality of our museums, the quality of service, our income, products and efficiency has increased.”
