Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his opening speech, drew attention to TOBB’s Aid Campaign for the Famine Disaster in Africa, requesting that the chamber and exchange presidents handle the issue with due sensitivity and promote the campaign in their regions.

Briefing the chamber and exchange presidents on TOBB’s activities, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that TOBB is Turkey’s most democratic institution. Relating that increasing the number of entrepreneurs is the only way to create employment for the one million new people who join the work force each year, Hisarcıklıoğlu underlined the importance of women and young entrepreneurs. Requesting that the chamber and exchange presidents support women and young entrepreneurs in their regions, TOBB President said, “Our Blessed Prophet’s wife Excellency Mother Hatice was also a trader. Why do we not take her as a role model?”

Speaking of the advantages of the markets of countries like India and China, Hisarcıklıoğlu urged businessmen to take advantage of opportunities like the Credit Guarantee Fund, KOBİ Inc., ABİGEM and European Chamber Pairing Programs.
