The TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his message regarding the August 30th Victory Holiday, “Throughout history, our noble nation has never relinquished values such as the flag, homeland and independence. The victory of August 30th is proof that if we stand united and fight with determination there is nothing that we cannot achieve.”
In his speech, Hisarcıklıoğlu said;
“We honor the victory Supreme Command Battle at Dumlupınar which started on the August 26th of 1922 and ended on the 30th under the supreme command of Mustafa Kemal. This victory is the clear indication of our nation’s love of independence and that we will never bow to oppression.
As the great commander and man of state Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stated, ‘Our nation has achieved victory by displaying an unshakable unity in conduct and effort.’
Forever favoring peace at home and throughout the world, our exalted nation has displayed to its allies and enemies time and again the fighting spirit it will bring to the field of battle if its independence and homeland are threatened. The Great Assault is one of the most exemplary instances of this spirit.
We present our gratitude to the martyrs and veterans who gave their lives for our values of homeland, nation, independence and the flag, foremost among them Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. As the Turkish business world, we vow to bring this country which they founded to the forefront of civilization.
