TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated, “The İzmir Fair, gifted unto us by Atatürk was not just an indicator of commercial but that of a nation’s determination to crown its political freedom with economic freedom. 80 years have passed and the İzmir Fair has become an international fair due respect, visited by 1.5 million people and over a thousand companies. Our country has become the world’s 16th largest economy and the 6th in Europe. There are more goals ahead of us as a nation. With an average growth of 7% every year, we will become one of the 10 largest economies in the world.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that İzmir would crown its world brand property with the new fair grounds.

TOBB President  Hisarcıklıoğlu, relating how he has seen firsthand abroad the attention İzmir gets with its investment advantages, said, “A new race is just starting now. EXPO 2020 is not just İzmir’s race, but the whole country’s. Because if İzmir wins, Turkey wins. The 80th İzmir Fair holds special importance.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that companies and countries which did not adapt to globalization were left behind and this makes fair hold considerable strategic importance.

TOBB holds the fair permit authority on domestic fairs and has brought advanced country standards to holding fairs and prepares a fairs guide each year.
