BALO West Anatolia Logistics Organizations Inc. and JSC Lithuania Railways signed a memorandum of understanding in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius on the 10th of May, 2012. Attending the signature ceremony were officials of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.​

 

With the Viking Train cooperation, Turkish exports freights will be connected to the “Viking Train Project” which carries goods over Lithuania-Belarus-Ukraine.

Exports headed for Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and Poland will be transported from the Samsun and Derince ports faster for lower cost. In addition the transit passage of goods to Mediterranean and Middle East countries will be facilitated as well as the transportation of good within Turkey.

BALO, established in December 2011 in order to increase Turkey’s railroads share in international transportation –thereby decreasing transportation costs- is comprised of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) as well as 92 Chambers, Exchanges, OIZs and sector associations.

BALO will grant impetus to Turkish trade with its partnership with Viking Train, contributing greatly to Anatolian industrialists.
