Faik Yavuz requested that visas and transportation quotas between the two countries be lifted in order for trade to develop. Briefing the guest delegation regarding the activities and projects of TOBB, Yavuz suggested that a mechanism similar to the Credit Guarantee Fund be established in Tajikistan.

- The visa issue may be resolved soon

The Tajikistan-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group President Mahmadali Vatanov stated that a trade volume of 500 million Dollars is quite a small amount but that they wish to increase this number.

Stating that the issue of lifting visas is being discussed in the Tajikistani parliament, Vatanov said that they expect this matter to be resolved in the most expedient manner and that they will look into it as soon as they return to their country.

Vatanov reported that they are especially keen on cooperating in the fields of textiles, agriculture and energy with Turkey and said that the rate of Turkish investments in Tajikistan in all of the foreign investments in Tajikistan amounts to only 0.9%.

The Turkey-Tajikistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group President Mustafa Kabakçı pointed out that Turkey takes on a very important role in the development of relations between Tajikistan and Turkey, stating that the development of economic cooperation contributes to the development of political cooperation.
