Attending the TOBB Defense Industry Council meeting, Defense Industry Undersecretary Murad Bayar stated that the sector has achieved its export and contribution goals set in the 2077-2011 Strategic Plan, and that in the coming term, especially in exports, logistical services and state acquisitions, growth of the sector will continue.​

TOBB Defense Industry Council convened at the TOBB Union Center in Ankara and hosted the Defense Industry Undersecretary Murad bayar. Bayar expressed his happiness at the institutionalization of the sector and drew attention to the increasing importance of the industry with its institutions, expanding industrial web and subsidiary industry.

Undersecretary Bayar stated that the success of the sector will be measured by how its production, maintenance-repair-modernization services reflect on the ability of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Stating that joint work with the Turkish General Staff on logistical services has reached a certain point wherein that the responsibility of weapon systems would rest on companies, all the way from the beginning of its use to its end.
Reporting that many departments in the public establishment have started investing seriously in technological projects, Bayar stated that instead of the foreign resources used in most of these projects could be undertaken by the Turkish defense industry with its experience and technology.

Also during the meeting, it was pointed out that the export volume of the defense industry has exceeded 1 billion Dollars with 36.24% exported to Europe, 32.61% to North America and 19.08% to Middle East and North Africa countries.

The distribution of the subsectors of the defense industry in regards to exports are aerospace (53.02%), land vehicles (16.06%) and weapon/ammunition/rockets/missiles (11.90%).
