To this end, TOBB ETU has signed an agreement with the Arabian Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria which is endorsed by the Arab League. As per this agreement, students of the International Entrepreneurship Department who choose Arabic will receive part of their education in Alexandria. The language education will be followed by extended classes on Arabian economy, history, legislation and literature. At the end of these lessons, TOBB ETU students will receive certification from the Arabian Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

Arabic education will be TOBB ETU’s second option after the Russian education was made available at the TOBB International Entrepreneurship Department. Students who elected Russian education are now at the Moscow Public University receiving education in the Russian language, after which they will spend 6 months receiving additional education on Russian history, economy and legislature. Upon graduation they will receive a certificate from the Moscow Public University in addition to their TOBB ETU diploma.

TOBB ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Güven Sak, in his assessment of the subject, said that world commerce is rapidly shifting to Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Sak said, “There is a significant lack of diplomats who speak Arabic. This prevents us from directly and sufficiently interacting with these countries. Our students will contribute greatly to the facilitation and improvement of economic relations between Turkey and these countries.”
