TOBB Education Council convened

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Education Council Meeting was held at TOBB Twin Towers under the chairmanship of Council President Dr. Yusuf Ekinci with the participation of TOBB Vice President Selçuk Öztürk, Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Private Education Institutions Education Policies Department Head Vedat Kuşgözoğlu, Head of Schools Department Murat İlci.​

TOBB Vice President of the Board of Directors Selçuk Öztürk, who is responsible for the Council, touched upon the work of the sector representatives and shared the information with the members that the problems of the sector will always be followed.

Council President Dr. Yusuf Ekinci expressed his pleasure to meet with the members and emphasized that they came together to consult on issues of importance for the sector. Stating that the sector is going through a troubled period, President Ekinci touched on the importance of not having any unspoken words left for education until the problems are solved.

TOBB Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department Head Saygın Baban stated that the councils created within TOBB are strong structures and that the sector is represented at a high level and that it is important to act together.

At the meeting, where the latest situation of the sector was evaluated after the new minimum wage and the limitation imposed on the wage increase rate of the 2023 academic year, it was emphasized to be a single voice especially in such a period.

Stating that the education business is meaningful with the mutual trust and support of the school-parent-teacher trio, the sector representatives consulted on what can be done to solve the problems and to move the sector forward.

UCAS Türkiye Representative Çağlayan Atasoy, who was invited to the meeting, made an introductory presentation to UCAS Türkiye at the Student Placement and Counseling Center of the Universities and Colleges of the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland). In his presentation, Atasoy expressed the fields of activity of the institution, the management and education team, the benefits of being a member and the advantages it will provide to schools and students.

In the meeting, the problems experienced by Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers, Motor Vehicle and Driving Courses, Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools and publishers were expressed and it was evaluated that it was important to follow up the issues before the public.

Vedat Kuşgözoğlu, Head of the Education Policies Department of the General Directorate of Private Education Institutions of the Ministry of National Education, and Murat İlci, Head of the Department of Schools, who were invited to the meeting, expressed their satisfaction to always be side by side with the sector and answered the questions of the Members.
