27.04.2013 /

TOBB Automotive Industry Council convened at the TOBB İstanbul Service Building. Council Vice President Ercan Tezer presided over the meeting during which the developments in the sector were assessed.

Ercan Tezer, assessing developments in exports, stated that the troubles in the European market are still ongoing and that they do not expect a great increase in automobile sales as Turkey main export target is Europe. Tezer stated that despite a small decrease, companies are still looking for alternatives to the European market and that they have no negative expectations of 2013.

It was emphasized that R&D and product development mechanisms and resources need to be increased. Also assessed during the meeting was the matter of a domestically designed and produced automobile, the report for which was compiled and handed over to the ministry.
