Gulf Chamber of Commerce achieves accreditation

Gulf Chamber of Commerce (KTO) held its 15th Anniversary and Accreditation Certification Ceremony with the attendances of TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Minister for Science, Industry and Technology, Fikri Işık.​

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he wants Turkey to prosper and that entrepreneurs are necessary for that.

 

“Turkey has a population of 76 million and only 1.5 million entrepreneurs. Japan has 6 million entrepreneurs in its population of 127 million.” Also pointing out the low ratio of women to men among our entrepreneurs, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that this needs to increase.

 

Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out the importance of raising children infused with a spirit for enterprise and stated that in order to achieve their goal of becoming one of the top 10 economies of the world by 2023, this was crucial.

 

Touching on the modernization of customs gates, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that, with the lessened waiting periods, a yearly saving of 410 million TL had been achieved.

 

- Minister Işık

 

Minister for Science, Industry and Technology, Fikri Işık congratulated KTO for their 15th anniversary and becoming accredited, saying, “This is a great success. KTO will provide 5-star service to its members.”

 

Işık stated that the Middle East is living through its most tumultuous period since WWI and went on to speak in regards to Turkey’s position in the global economy.

 

- Gulf TO Chairman Efe

 

Gulf Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chairman Mustafa Efe stated that the Gulf TO has been one of the main actors of financial growth and development in its region, providing its members with modern workspace as well as achieving accreditation, and went on to thank all chamber personnel for their contributions.

 

Governor Hasan Basri Güzeloğlu stated that the Gulf county and province is developing further with each passing day and said, “The work we undertake for our future goals adds value to our city.”

 

Following the speeches, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu presented Gulf Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chairman Mustafa Efe and the member of the Board with the accredited chamber certificate.
