Binali Yıldırım Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School opened

04.06.2016 / Erzincan

Built in Erzincan with TOBB’s contribution, the Binali Yıldırım Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School has been opened. Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu cut the ribbon at the ceremony. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it is impossible for anyone to lose from investing in education.

Speaking at the opening of the school, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Erzincan for Prime Minister Yıldırım. Of Binali Yıldırım, he said, “He has three prominent characteristics. He is a true son of Erzincan. He’s been in İstanbul, Ankara and out of country, but he’s never forgotten home. He consults at every opportunity. He is a project person. Every one of his projects is on a global scale. They’ve changed the face of Turkey. I thank him on behalf of Turkish business community.” Stating that the school isn’t TOBB’s first investment into Erzincan, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Before we renovated the primary school in the village of Başpınar in Kemaliye, the restoration of the historic Kemaliye Madrasa, the restoration of the Özkaymazlar Residence. Now we’ve built this large school.”

- It is impossible for anyone to lose from investing in education

Stating that it is always profitable to invest in education, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This investment in education is important. I am a businessman. I always weigh risk versus reward. Every investment is either a profit or loss. There is only one investment which will never cause a loss, it will always profit and that is education. The country profits, the city benefits, you benefit. Firstly, this school is for our girls. It is very important to educate young women. If you educate a man, you have educated one person. If you educate a woman, you’ve educated a whole family. If you educate a family you educate society. That is why this school is the apple in our eye.

Secondly, this is a project school. This is an Imam Hatip High School and the only project school in Eastern Anatolia. Girls educated here will learn their religious information, culture as well as mathematics, science and social studies in the best conditions. There is a saying that a bird with only a single wing cannot fly. The girls educated in this school will be the second wing. They will serve their home and country in the best way possible.”
