Joint reaction against coup attempt by NGOs

TOBB, Türk-İş, Hak-İş, TESK, Memur-Sen and TİSK chairpersons and representatives condemned the coup attempt during a joint press conference.​

The chairpersons and representatives of NGOs representing employers and workers condemned the coup attempt during a joint press conference. The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, speaking at the press conference at the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) headquarters, stated that they have come together to condemned the coup attempt.

Congratulating the Turkish nation for their loyalty to democracy and the will of the people, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We want this to be the start of an era wherein there will never again be an attempt against the national will. We do not want Turkey to be a relic of the past. We thank our nation for their solidarity. I hope that these traitors receive the highest punishment.”

Türk-İş Chairman Ergün Atalay stated that the confederation stands firmly against the coup attempt.

TESK Chairman Bendevi Palandöken stated that the people have answered the putschists in the strongest way possible.

Hak-İş Vice Chairman Mehmet Şahin stated that they are against all coups past, present and future. Memur-Sen  Chairman Ali Yalçın Türk stated that democracy has reached a new level.

Turkish Employers Syndicate Confederation (TİSK) Advisor Cengiz Delibaş stated that the uprising which went agains the fundamental tenets of the Turkish Republic, democracy and the people’s will, have been rebuked.
