TOBB Turkey Venture Capital Council convened at the TOBB Istanbul Service Building. Announcing that the angel investors from the USA would be visiting Turkey in November as part of the Turkey Economy Politics Research Association’s (TEPAV) Global Entrepreneurship Program (GEP), the strategies for the joint activities planned were discussed.

- “Priorities of the subcommittees were decided”Attending the Turkey Venture Capital Council meeting were venture capital fund directors as well as public and civil institutions’ high level representatives. The sector council reviewed its work groups’ finding on the problems of the sector.In the review, the subjects on which the work groups would prioritize were determined. According to this; the fundraising group on finding funding from domestic institutions and the public administration; the investment group on determining the obstacles for commercializing the R&D of universities and the introduction of venture capital to companies in Anatolia; the output group on the clarification taxation and legislation pertaining to output and the facilitation of output.Some of the policy suggestions on the subjects will be brought before the ministries and YOİKK.- Joseph Lerner from Harvard U. in IstanbulA professor from Harvard University and one of the few academics in the world with expertise on venture capital, Josh Lerner, will meet with TOBB Venture Capital Sector Council members on June 27, 2011.
