Paper Products Council discussed unfair competition and work on paper standards

TOBB Turkey Paper and Paper Products Industry Council convened in İstanbul under Council President Erdal Sükan to discuss unfair competition and work on paper standards.​

It was stated that permitting sub-par and cheaper quality paper into the domestic market despite the fact that the quality of said paper is below TSE Standards is the main cause of unfair competition. It was decided that the issue would be brought to the Science, Industry and Technology Ministry.

 

A presentation introducing the Hacettepe Technopolis Technology Transfer Center (TTM) was given by representatives of the Hacettepe University. It was stated that the center aims to increase business efficiency, decreasing costs to the minimum possible, producing new technologies to allow higher quality production, support to companies for new technologies (funds, incentives, etc.).

 

Council Advisor Sedef ZaimoÄŸlu provided information to council members in regards to the technical support for the implementation of REACH Charter hosted by the Environment and Urbanism Ministry; it was stated that the project aims to improve the protection of human health and the preservation of nature with the implementation of the EU legislation concerning chemicals.
