Yavuz: “It is everyone’s priority to have uninterrupted access to energy”

The 3rd TEPAV – BP Energy Forum on the South Gas Corridor Project was held with the attendances of the Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız, TOBB Board and Presidential Council Member Faik Yavuz, British European Union Minister David Lidington and BP Regional President Gordon Birrell.​

Faik Yavuz gave the opening speech of the Forum stated that ensuring energy security as well as the easy and cheap access to energy is among their major priorities as the overarching representative of the private sector.

 

The Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız stated that the South Gas Corridor is of the utmost importance for Turkey as well as the EU members of the region in regards to supply security.

 

BP Azerbaijan-Georgia- Turkey Presient Gordon Birrell pointed out that the investment decision for the second phase of the development of the Shah Deniz natural gas field in the coastal waters of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea has been signed by the Shah Deniz Consortium, of which Turkey is also a member and said, “The South Gas Corridor is one of the milestones for Turkey to become an energy terminal.”
