“Additional security requirements will increase costs”

The first meeting of the new term of the Turkish Retail Council was held with the participation of high level representatives of the private sector and non-governmental organizations under the chairmanship of Council Chair Mehmet T. Nane.​

Specialist Demirhan Küçük from the Waste Management Department of the General Directorate of Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, who was invited to give information about the Packaging Waste Control Regulation made his presentation as the first item of the meeting.


In his presentation, Küçük also addressed the questions of the sector representatives, addressing the difficulties with packaging waste.


At the meeting, demands for additional security measures in the stores and shopping malls was also discussed. It was reported that interested associations have consulted among themselves and that meetings with related institutions were being carried out, that the additional measures to be taken would increase the costs.
