On 13th December 2010, newly assigned ambassador to Turkmenistan, Şevki Mütevellioğlu visited the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, at TOBB headquarters​

Consulting on the economic and commercial relations between the two countries, Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu informed the Ambassador about TOBB’s activities and he stated that they are always ready to cooperate with Turkmenistan as TOBB, TOBB ETÜ and TEPAV. Moreover, Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the revitalization of the historical Silk Road will also be beneficial for Turkmenistan and pointed out the importance of the modernization of border gates of Turkmenistan.

Additionally, Mr. Mütevellioğlu stated the regional importance of Turkmenistan in the area and said that, the revitalization of the historical Silk Road and the modernization of border gates are very vital projects.

Mr. Mütevellioğlu indicated that the Turkish goods are both cheap and in western-quality and that the investments of Turkish companies in Turkmenistan are very significant.
