Attending the activities celebrating the 400th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic affairs between Turkey and Holland in addition to the World Customs Day at the Ankara Logistics Base in Kazan, TOBB Board Vice President Halim Mete praised the works of the customs organization.​

 

- Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı

Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı stated in his speech that approximately 18,000 employers of Turkish origin are providing vitality for the economy and said, “The total employment capacity from the 5.6 billion Euros’ worth of investment by Turks living in Holland has reached 18,000.”

During the ceremony a Memorandum of Understanding was signed at between Turkey and Holland.

- “We value the establishment of logistics centers”

Stating that addressing the needs of the foreign trade sector from a single source throughout the country, the establishment of logistics centers is one of the most important matters for the ministry, stated Yazıcı and went on to say, “The complete development of logistics and transportation systems in Turkey and attaining the means to be an international logistics base for Turkey are being worked on by the relevant agencies in joint cooperation. The work we have done together with Holland, the logistics center of Europe, present significance for the experience we have gained from them.”

- Holland Customs Directory President Willy Rowers

Holland Customs Directory President Willy Rowers stated that last year, Holland has appointed a trade undersecretary to Turkey. Rowers stated that the customs acquis should be conducted appropriately and in cooperation with trade partners.

After the speeches at the ceremony, DGÖ Qualification Certificates were awarded to winners by the Minister Yazıcı, Customs and Commerce Minister Vice President Fatih Metin and Turkey-Holland Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Acting President and AK Party Istanbul Representative İsmil Safi; the Memorandum of Understanding detailing cooperation between Turkey and Holland in regards to the customs legislations and customs crimes; also, a Letter of Intent regarding technical assistance between the countries were signed.
