TOBB Turkey Agriculture Assembly convened under Turkey Agriculture Assembly President Güngör Şarman with the attendances of TOBB Board Member Mustafa Yardımcı and the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry Deputy Director General Ahmet Kavak and TOBB Agriculture Council.​

During the meeting a presentation on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and Products was made by the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry Deputy Director General Ahmet Kavak.

Speaking about the bans in the legislation regarding GMOs and products, Ahmet Kavak stated that there has been no authorization for any food oriented genes to this day by the Biosecurity Council.

Providing information regarding their plans for genetically modified products, Kavak stated that labs conducting GMO analysis have increased significantly since 2009 and that there are 27 labs conducting analysis in various cities.

Following Ahmet Kavak’s presentation, the Turkey Agriculture Assembly Members and Agriculture Council Members made assessments regarding GMOs.
